Congratulations to Dr Paul A Negulescu for being awarded the 2024 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences. Alongside his colleagues from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Dr Sabine Hadida and Dr Fredrick Van Goor, Dr Negulescu received the 2024 Breakthrough Prize for developing life-transforming drug combinations that repair the defective chloride channel protein in patients with cystic fibrosis.

Dr Negulescu is one of the Laureates who received the Shaw Prize in Life Science and Medicine 2022, and also the first individual from the pharmaceutical industry to receive the Prize. He shared the award with Professor Michael J Welsh.
