Each Shaw Laureate for the year is invited to join the Award Presentation Ceremony in Hong Kong in autumn to receive a medal and a certificate after the Shaw Prize Announcement has been made.

This year, owing to the global Covid-19 pandemic, The Shaw Prize Foundation has decided to postpone the 2020 Award Presentation Ceremony to next year and details of the new arrangements will later be posted on the website. The decision of deferral made by the Council aims at ensuring the safety of Shaw Laureates, guests and employees attending the event.
