Biographical Note of Laureate
Yuet-Wai Kan was born in 1936 in Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong Medical School in 1958 and received a D.Sc. from the University of Hong Kong in 1980. In 1972, he moved to the University of California at San Francisco and he is currently Louis K. Diamond Professor of the University of California, San Francisco.
